Deputy Garrison Commander
Mr. Kevin Griess
Mr. Kevin Griess assumed duties as the Deputy to the Garrison Commander for U.S. Army Garrison Schweinfurt in July 2011 after graduating from the Industrial College of the Armed Forces. Prior to Senior Service College attendance, he was assigned to U.S. Army Garrison Humphreys in South Korea.
Mr. Griess began his 30-year federal service career as a U.S. Air Force enlisted Airman in 1981 and enjoyed a rewarding and successful career as a law enforcement patrolman, explosives and narcotics K-9 handler, and a nuclear weapons systems and installation security superintendent before retiring as a Senior Non-Commissioned Officer in 2002. In 2003, he continued federal service as an Army civilian in the Installation Management Command as an Anti-Terrorism Officer at Camp Humphreys, Korea. From 2004 to 2010, Mr. Griess received promotions and assignments as the Director of Plans, Training, Mobilization and Security (S-3), the Director of Emergency Services, and Chief, Plans Analysis and Integration (S-5) Office.
Mr. Griess’ key civilian recognition includes the Commander’s Award for Civilian Service and the Installation Management Command’s Stalwart Award. His prior military awards include the Meritorious Service Medal and numerous Commendation and Achievement Awards.
Kevin’s academic credentials include a Bachelor of Science degree in Workforce Education, two Masters of Science degrees in Human Resource Management and Management Information Systems, and a Masters of Science degree in National Resource Strategy from the Industrial College of the Armed Forces, National Defense University, Class of 2011. His professional training includes the Army Management Staff College’s Sustaining Base Leadership and Management (SBLM) and Continuing Education for Senior Leader’s (CESL) Courses.
