Command Sergeant Major Eric K. Gordon

Command Sergeant Major Eric K. Gordon hails from Thomasville, NC. He enlisted in the U.S. Army on August 19, 1982, receiving his basic training at Fort McClellan, Alabama. His first assignment, as a Military Policeman, was with the 2nd MP Company, 2nd ID, Camp Casey, Korea, followed by assignments to Fort Lewis, Washington, and an extended second tour at Camp Page, Korea, as a Squad Leader, MP Desk Sergeant, Military Police Investigator and the Area II MPI Supervisor.

Command Sergeant Major Gordon began his recruiting career in March 1988, as a recruiter in the Landover Recruiting Company, Baltimore Recruiting Battalion. He went on to serve in the Baltimore Recruiting Battalion, as an On-Production Station Commander, Battalion Assistant Operations NCO and Limited-Production Station Commander. In 1994, he was assigned to the First Recruiting Brigade as the Brigade Marketing and Operations NCO. In 1996, he was reassigned to the Pittsburgh Recruiting Battalion as the Battalion Senior Operations Sergeant and then assumed duties as First Sergeant for the Clarion Recruiting Company. Later in August 1998, he was reassigned to the Third Recruiting Brigade and assumed duties as First Sergeant of the Portage Recruiting Company, Milwaukee Recruiting Battalion. In August 2002, Command Sergeant Major Gordon received his appointment and assumed duties as the Command Sergeant Major of the Harrisburg Recruiting Battalion, First Recruiting Brigade. In April 2005, Command Sergeant Major Gordon was reassigned to Fort Gillem, Georgia, as the Second Recruiting Brigade Operations Sergeant Major and on 30 June 2008, he assumed duties as the Command Sergeant Major of the Atlanta Recruiting Battalion.

Command Sergeant Major Gordon’s military education includes PLDC, BTEC, ANCOC, Jungle Expert, Military Police Investigations, Guidance Counselor Course, Operations Course, and the First Sergeants Course. He is also a graduate of the U.S. Army Sergeants Major Academy and Command Sergeants Major Courses. He also holds an Associate of Applied Science Degree from Central Texas College, a Bachelor of Science Degree in Criminology, from the University of Maryland University College and a Masters of Arts in Human Relations, from Liberty University. His military awards and decorations include the Meritorious Service Medal with six Oak Leaf Clusters, Army Commendation Medal with four Oak Leaf Clusters, Army Achievement Medal with six Oak Leaf Clusters, Good Conduct Medal ninth award, Army Superior Unit Award with two Oak Leaf Clusters, Gold Recruiting Badge with Sapphires Stars, the Recruiter Ring, and Glen E. Morrell Medallion.
