Since its founding in 1942, Army Emergency Relief has been taking care of Soldiers and their Families by providing financial assistance in a time of need. AER is structured on a worldwide basis to meet a variety of needs to include emergency financial aid, children and spouse scholarships, grants to Wounded Warriors and benefits for surviving Family members.
AER takes great pride in their commitment to be there when it's needed. Since inception, AER has provided over $1.2 billion in assistance. But AER's support does not stop there. AER continually looks at new and innovative ways to improve our policies and programs and expedite the process of providing assistance.
AER's goal will always be to continue maintaining the highest standards of “Helping the Army take care of its Own” which has been the hallmark of Army Emergency Relief for over 68 years.

Army Emergency Relief Funding
Army Emergency Relief is the standard for soldiers helping other soldiers. The annual campaign is the one time each year all soldiers have the opportunity to help their fellow soldiers with their contributions. Despite the reduction in the size of the U.S. Army, the soldier’s need for financial assistance has not diminished and is not expected to decline in the foreseeable future. Campaign contributions help assure Army Emergency Relief’s capability to make the required funds available to soldiers and their families when faced with financial emergencies.
