The Schweinfurt Postmaster oversees the operations of the Army post offices (APO), Community Mailrooms (CMR), and Official Mail and Distribution Center (OMDC).
- Temporary Mail Disposition Request (DD Form 2258) - Completing and submitting this form on-line provides customers an opportunity to submit mandatory temporary mailing instructions to the Community Mail Room including mail holding or forwarding. Sponsors are required to submit this information whenever they depart for more than 14 days for Hospitalization, Deployments, Leave, or other absences of more than 14 Days. Mail held at the CMR for more than 14 days is considered “aged mail” and will be returned to sender. This form will only be accepted using AKO or EUR account for security reasons. Please use the correct form for your CMR using the links below:
- On-Line Claim Filing - This link provides access to the U.S. Postal Service electronic claim filing webpage. Information may be obtained also at http://www.usps.com/insuranceclaims/online/. Customers are now required to file claims on-line and not at the Postal Service Center. All required instructions are available on line at this web site.
Army Post Offices
There are two Army Post Offices located within the Schweinfurt garrison. The APO integrates the civil postal system and the U.S. Military Postal Service (MPS). The purchase of stamps, the delivery of mail, and other services are offered.

Community Mailrooms
Pick up your mail at the Community Mailrooms. Mail can be picked up from your personal post office box 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The hours listed below are times available to pick up packages and boxes.

Official Mail and Distribution Center
Official mail is all mail that pertains exclusively to the business of the United States Government. Regulations, policies, and procedures that govern official mail can be found in the DoD Official Mail Manual and the Army regulation Official Mail and Distribution Management.
