Host-Nation reports, on 12 May 2012, between 1500 and 1800hrs, Iranian asylum seekers will demonstrate in Wurzburg, Germany, in response to changes to the German Asylum Act. They will gather on Kaiser-Strasse and march through Julius promenade, Dom-Strasse, Karmeliten-Strasse back to Julius promenade and end on Barbarossa platz; holding speeches. Host-Nation anticipates 100 participants and expects no violence. Community members are advised to avoid this specific area at the noted time.
Stuttgart, Germany

Host Nation reports, from 1400 until 1530hrs, the German Peace Party will hold a demonstration in the immediate vicinity of Patch Barracks, Stuttgart, Germany. The event will not take place directly at the main gate but approximately 70 yards East of the Patch main gate, on Katzenbach Strasse. The tone of the event will be to abolish nuclear armament now. Approximately 50-100 people are expected to attend and the event is expected to be peaceful, as they have been historically, violence is not expected; community members are advised to avoid this specific area.
General Tips
- Be aware of your surroundings when you are out and about. Report suspicious or threatening issues promptly to both the local Military Police and M.I. Bamberg field offices.
- Always stay vigilant to situational awareness; avoid demonstrations when all possible; be careful what information you discuss that may be sensitive; be extra alert of anyone trying to phish information from you at frequented places on the economy such as restaurants, bars, clubs, etc.
- Blend in with the local population in what you wear “do not stick out like a sore thumb”; report any suspected contact(s) you may feel inappropriate or suspicious to your commander, security office or supervisor, immediately.
- Do not forget to get your travel advisory briefing when visiting another foreign country. Practice good OPSEC at all times and remember, we all are potential targets for information.
