SAS includes before and after school programs, weekend activities during the school year, summer care and camps during school vacations for Kindergarten through fifth graders. Through partnerships with groups such as National 4-H, Character Counts and Boys & Girls Clubs of America, SAS helps children learn to work with their strengths, interests, and each other, to feel good about themselves, and to grow as individuals. Programs are offered in the core areas of leisure, recreation, and the arts; sport and fitness; life skills, citizenship and leadership; and mentoring and support services.
Before & After School Care
Care is provided before and after DoDDS scheduled school sessions. Patrons can opt for before and/or after school care. Care is also offered on “early out” and no school days.
Hourly Care
Hourly care includes developmental services for children that meet the needs of parents requiring short-term childcare on an intermittent basis.
Camp Programs
These programs are offered during school breaks to include winter holiday, spring break and summer break. Each week the children are given the chance to explore the world around them through a variety of activities. Our goal is to foster a positive atmosphere and offer rewarding choices so that children can develop a sense of self-esteem as well as lifelong recreational skills. Camp will feature day trips, arts and crafts, sports and games, music and dance, food and fun and many more options are included. We provide breakfast, lunch and snacks for the afternoon, however many of the places we visit offer food and souvenirs for purchase with local currency. All children should come prepared to participate in the day’s major activities. Entrance fees for the field trips are included. No alternate care is provided for children not participating in field trips.
