Currently, there is no Government–controlled family housing for Soldiers in the ranks of E7 thru O3/CW3. Private rental housing is authorized. Please contact the housing office for more information.
USAG Schweinfurt has approx 707 government housing units (on-post), 559 government leased housing units (off-post), and 500 private rental housing units (off-post). Our priority of government-controlled (government housing and government leased housing) housing goes to families whose sponsor holds the rank of E-1 thru E-6. There is limited government housing (on-post) for senior grade (typically O-4, E-9, and CW4 and up). Almost all families with sponsors E-7's through O-3's will live in private rental (off-post).
- Government controlled housing is mandatorily assigned to enlisted E1 through E6 and key and essential personnel.
- Currently, there is no Government–controlled family housing for Soldiers in the ranks of E7 thru O3/CW3. Private rental housing is authorized. Please contact the housing office for more information.
- Government controlled housing consist of Government Owned Housing and Government Leased Housing.
- Government owned quarters have built-in kitchens, cabinets and built-in wardrobes.
- Government leased quarters have built-in kitchens and one wardrobe per bedroom.
- All government controlled quarters have dishwashers with the exception of a few leased housing units.
- Most of the leased quarters have rolladen (Exterior Blinds).
- Flooring in quarters is either hardwood or linoleum.
- Washers and dryers are usually in a common use laundry room, either on the floor level in some buildings, or in the basement.
- Some leased housing complexes have underground garages, some have carports or garages.
- Many of the leased housing apartments have 110/220 voltage. 110/220 voltage is available in all government owned buildings.
